The Kano State Hisbah Commission has announced its intention to open a marriage school in the state in November 2021, the commission's Commander-in-Chief, Mallam Muhammad Haruna Ibn Sina, said in an interview with Freedom Radio in Kano.
Ibn Sina said, in the first place it is an option for those who are interested in joining, but in the future, they will try to make it legal for anyone who wants to get married in Kano.
“75 percent of our complaints are about marital problems, which is why we created the school for training.
"The incidence of marital deaths is on the rise, especially in Kano, so the school will provide strategies for teaching marital sociology," said Ibn Sina.
In addition, the commander added that they will file a resolution before the state legislature to force the couple to attend school.
Ibn Sina added that the training will not be limited to women, even men will be allowed to participate in order to achieve equality and reduction of problems.
The marriage problem in Kano State continues to be a major challenge especially on how Hisbah is struggling to resolve them
