Simisola Bolatito Kosoko popularly known by her stage name Simi, is a Nigerian singer, wife, a mother, songwriter and actress.
She was born April 19,1988 in Ojuelegba Surulere, Lagos, Nigeria. She obtained her secondary education from Stars International College, in Ikorodu, Lagos State. She is an alumna of Covenant University where she studied Mass Communication.
Simisola started her career as a gospel singer in her local church. She released her debut studio album in 2008, titled Ogaju. She gained prominence in 2014 after releasing "Tiff” a song that was nominated for Best Alternative Song at The Headies 2015. Simi signed a record deal with X3M Music in 2014, but left the label in May 2019 following the expiration of her contract. She released her second studio album Simisola on September 8, 2017.
Her third studio album Omo Charlie Champagne, Vol. 1 was released to coincide with her thirty-first birthday on April 19, 2019. In June 2019, Simi announced the launch of her independent record label, Studio Brat. She released a song tittled 'Duduke” in the year 2020 made her unborn baby, a symbol of love and hope. In 2020, Simi released another EP titled Restless II which is part two of the initial Restless EP released in 2014.
Simisola has been nominated for various awards amongst which she won most, they includes The Headies which she won seven times, Nigeria Entertainment Awards which she won once , City People Entertainment Awards which she won three times, Net honors which she won once and Nigerian Teen Choice Awards which she won once. Simisola has been known to be one of the singers with a very great voice in the Music Industry.
