Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State has named blocks in the magistrates' court complex in Port Harcourt after his wife, Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike, and other justices of the state judiciary.
The governor made the announcement on Wednesday, May 3, during the commissioning of the complex.
The blocks are named after Justice Eberechi Suzzette Nyesom-Wike (Block A), Justice Iyaye Lami (Block B), Justice Simeon Amadi (Block C), and Justice Margaret Ibelema (Block D).
The governor said that the naming of the blocks after the justices was to appreciate their contributions to the development of the judiciary in Rivers State.
The move has been criticized by some people who say that it is a waste of public funds.
