Former Head of State Yakubu Gowon said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is doing his best to address Nigeria's political, economic and social challenges, including the country's security pressures.
Gowon spoke after a closed-door meeting with the president at the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Saturday. He said Tinubu is working across key sectors and is making efforts to respond to the security situation in the interest of Nigerians.
According to him, there is no single area for the president to focus on in isolation because the government must protect Nigeria's interests on all fronts. He added that only the federal government can mobilise the authority and resources needed to confront the current security problems, and said Tinubu is handling that responsibility as best as he can.
